Update on Blaze
October 24, 2018
Our therapy horse Blaze recently developed a bladder stone and we conducted a fundraiser effort to provide for his medical care. He had a successful surgery and things were looking good. During Blaze’s post-surgery care, after a promising initial few days his condition suddenly went downhill and he was rushed back to the veterinary hospital. Despite a valiant effort from the team at UC Davis, Blaze passed away late October 23rd.
We wish to extend our deepest appreciation to all who assisted with publicizing his cause and those who donated to help with his medical expenses. We are forever grateful.
Blaze was an equine hero, working with law enforcement in two counties after a successful career in competition roping. In his retirement he worked tirelessly helping hundreds of people with special needs at Project RIDE. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered, with a horseshoe of honor to be displayed on our Rainbow Bridge memorial wall.
