It’s time for the Big Day of Giving!

The Big Day of Giving is a one day opportunity to participate in something truly BIG – the entire Sacramento region is part of it and you can be, too. it is a chance for you to donate to the small, local nonprofits that make your life and our community better each day.

Choose Us!

We hope you’ll include Project RIDE in your giving plan. Here’s how: Make your donations right here at or at the Big Day of Giving website, or drop by the barn with checks or cash at our arena on that day. You can donate any amount, but we are hoping you will give at least $30 which funds one very special ride.

ALL of your donations make us eligible for matching funds and special prizes from the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.

Are you a Golden 1 member? Use your Golden 1 card to make your Big Day of Giving donation and your gift will be boosted by a pool of extra money courtesy of Golden 1 Credit Union.

Why Choose Project RIDE?

Over 600 individuals get the benefits of horseback riding through our program, with another 185 on our waiting list. We would like to raise $25,000 in scholarship funds for more students to ride and we can do it – if you jump in to help. Plan your donation now. One lesson in our program costs just $30 and those 30 minutes are the highlight of our riders’ week. For them, their ride represents 30 minutes of joy and freedom from limitations. Make a donation of $30, or sponsor an eight-week session for $240. After you donate, tell your friends to join you.

After you make your donation, please join us at Project RIDE’s arena for an open house from 5pm to 7pm featuring approximately 20 Elk Grove nonprofits. Presentations by elected officials, fun interactive elements, light refreshments, live leaderboard showing the fundraising totals for Elk Grove-based nonprofits and demonstrations of Project RIDE’s therapeutic horseback riding program are all in store for you. If you show your donation receipt or make your Big Day of Giving donation at the event to any of the nonprofits represented, you’ll even get a free goodie bag (while supplies last.) Admission to the open house is free. The minimum online donation for Big Day of Giving is $15.

Sacramento Region Community Foundation Says:

For the past few years, the giving day has united our community, raising more than $16 million for local nonprofits from over 36,000 donors from all over the region, the state, the country, and the world.

The BIG Day of Giving is a small moment in time each year when this region takes a day to celebrate the spirit of giving. Even with the technology challenges during the 2016 event, donors found a way to make their donations and the nonprofits were still given a platform to shine. While the day itself is just 24 hours, the nine months prior to the day are just as important and we look forward to making this a year-round experience. Our new BIG Day of Giving website will house both year-round giving as well as the one day giving event. Donors will be able to learn about local nonprofits and make donations year-round as well as participate in the 24-hour giving frenzy once a year during BIG Day of Giving. Our goal is to bring donors and nonprofits together for a meaningful experience that lasts well beyond those 24-hours.

At Project RIDE we believe that when people with special needs are stronger, we are all stronger.
Here’s our winning tweet:
