The History of this Event
It all began on a sunny spring morning back in 1990-something. The few, the brave, the die-hards of Project RIDE gathered for a hot breakfast before a ride that would eventually become a treasured part of Elk Grove’s history.
The Lions Trail Ride and Dinner Dance, as it began, featured an all-day trail ride over water crossings and green oak-lined hills and ended with a barn dance at the Project RIDE arena. Many hilarious adventures ensued through the years until finally, the pressures of modern concerns gave way to today’s event, a steak dinner in the old cowboy spirit of the previous event.
